Be Prepared to Be a Hero: Equip Yourself with Mental Health First Aid

In the United States, 1 in 5 adults experiences a mental health challenge.  This staggering statistic highlights the critical need for mental health awareness and preparedness. Imagine encountering a friend, family member, coworker, or even a stranger struggling with a mental health crisis. Would you know how to approach them? Would you feel confident offering support?

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training empowers you to be a hero in these situations.  This evidence-based program equips you with the skills and knowledge to make a real difference:

  • Recognize Early Warning Signs:  Learn to identify the signs and symptoms of common mental health challenges like depression, anxiety, and addiction.

  • Understand the Landscape: Gain a foundational knowledge of different mental health conditions and how they may manifest.

  • Respond with Confidence:  Develop the skills to effectively respond to a crisis situation, de-escalate tension, and provide initial support.

  • Become a Bridge to Help:  Learn how to connect individuals with appropriate resources and professional care.

By attending MHFA training, you gain the confidence to help someone in need. You become a valuable asset to your community, fostering a more supportive and understanding environment for mental well-being.
