Racial trauma, deeply rooted in systemic racism, discrimination, and historical injustices, leaves a profound impact on the mental wellbeing of individuals within the Black community. Today, we delve into this critical topic, exploring avenues for healing and resilience.
Understanding Racial Trauma
Racial trauma encompasses the emotional and psychological distress caused by experiences of racism, prejudice, and discrimination. From microaggressions in everyday interactions to overt acts of violence and oppression, Black girls and women navigate a complex landscape where their identities are often marginalized and invalidated.
