Community Action Poverty Simulation

"In America, 37 million people, including 1 in 6 children, live at or below the poverty line."

Poverty is a stark reality for many individuals and families. However, unless you’ve personally experienced poverty, it can be challenging to truly comprehend.
The Community Action Poverty Simulation (CAPS) is designed to bridge the gap from misconception to understanding. CAPS offers an immersive, interactive experience that sensitizes community participants to the harsh realities of poverty.
The Poverty Simulation is A Tool to Help Your Team:
Promote Poverty Awareness
During the simulation, participants role-play a month in poverty, gaining firsthand experience of the lives of low-income families.
Inspire Local Change
Together, you can be a voice to end poverty in your community.
Increase Understanding
After the simulation, you will reflect on your learning and collaborate on ideas for community change.
Transform Perspectives
To shift the paradigm from viewing poverty as a personal failure to recognizing it as a structural failure of society.
